Anyone have any idea where this statue is from or what it's about?

From first glances, I had always sort of assumed that it was a sculpture depicting Kronos and his children.
But perhaps it is instead a sculptural metaphor for war and man's inhumanity towards man; and also how the innocent are so often the victims of those in any position of power - that the human paradigm cannot escape a consumer cycle where the weak are prey for the strong merely out of circumstance. |

Interesting - that hadn't occurred to me.
Perhaps the concept behind it stems from a feminist view that men are the less compassionate of the sexes and are socially empowered to shrug off the responsibility of raising their young or to simply abandon or indirectly (sometimes even directly) harm the young. Seems to be a fairly common thing amongst other animals.
Or maybe it's pro-abortion public artwork. :wtf:
I'm down for that. :stongue: |

| I thought it was Kronos too, but I guess it's open to interpretation |

Yeah - seemed right to me, as Kronos was known to be pretty mean to his kids throughout artwork. :stongue:
