Hi everybody,
Sorry for not writing in Swedish, but I'm still learning the language. I'm studying abroad in Sweden for the next year in Uppsala, and I wanted to know what the house scene is like here and in Stockholm. I couldn't find where the Swedish house mafia plays regularly, although I'm sure it's somewhere in Stockholm. And I'm sure there's got to be some house music in Uppsala, but I just haven't heard about it yet. If anybody could fill me in, I would really greatly appreciate it. I love house music, and from my 3 weeks here in the country, I love Sweden as well. I want to have a great year, and I know some funky house tunes will help. Thanks everybody!! |

Are you already here? In that case you should come and see Carl Cox in Stockholm this Saturday (the 15th)! I'll be there!
This is arranged by Monday Bar who arranges all types of events in Stockholm such as weekend cruises with only edm etc. (http://www.mondaybar.com/)
I don't know much about Uppsala.. I've only been to the different "Nationer" (student night clubs) there, but they're pretty nice too for ordinary drunken fun :p |

Adam Beyers new night yesterday was fantastic...
Speaking of the housemaffia, I think Steve Angello has a monthly recidency at this club. I donīt know when the next one is though. |

SHM plays pretty often in Stockholm and its only 40min with train from Uppsala. Join the forum at http://swedhousemafia.17.forumer.com/index.php to see gig dates, you wont find posters about when they are playing so I recommend you to join that forum.
I dont think there is any house clubs in Uppsala cause the scene is very small but ask around with people you are studying with you might find something |

| Well.. here in Uppsala there's mostly top 40 type music going on. But there used to be this club called Basement once every month but they only played goa/psy/full-on. Don't know if they're still around. |

| If you like the nations (who doesn't like cheap beer!) and want some mainstream house you could try Stockholm's nation at thursdays. Best music among the student clubs :) |

Yes, Basement did quite a lot of nice parties in Uppsala. Unfortunately they had much problems with localities and economy, and they have a break now until they get a grip of it again. I know that the arranger have thoughts about making smaller parties as well. Check their webpage, much is in Swedish but you could always send e-mail.
