No, it makes sense - the human body is a very ugly and sinful thing that should be covered up as often as possible. God wants us to hide our gifts; it's in the bible! Since Jesus didn't want us to be violent or to hate one another, we just make fun of or ridicule/label people until, out of nothing but social pressure and guilt, they conform to the prejudices we have arbitrarily set to be the standard for which people should clothe themselves.
