Hot and Cool Good Female Singers
View this Thread in Original format
Kamka
Hi everyone, I thought of making up this thread as a way to counteract all the Britney Spears and Paris Hilton talk that seem to be engaging the public recently... I actually don't dislike or hate either Britney or Paris (I actually think that Britney was ...hmm - attractive - when she was younger, and maybe she still is), they just don't interest me very much, and most of all, I don't even really know what they are doing recently. I think that there are so many other talented singers, who are just as good or even better, who don't get so much credit, perhaps because they're not famous internationally, or they don't have so many scandals, or they don't sing in English... a multitude of reasons. And then there are those who are famous but they get less attention for all their successes then a scandal of one of the above ladies...

So I thought... why not make a thread where we could introduce and discuss these hot&cool :), good-looking and talented female singers? They might be already known to most of you, and their music may not even be EDM, but who cares...

So I'll start. The first singer is Kate Ryan. Born in Belgium, she released three albums so far, and the fourt one is awaiting deployment. These two songs are from her first album, "Different":

I like both this song and the video for it :) The next one also enjoyed much popularity in Europe, at least when I was there:

I don't like the video for this one so much, but the song is great still.

Next singer's name is InGrid... I don't know how well-known she is here in North America and whether is is popular at all, so let me introduce her by posting presenting one of her more famous songs:

There was a remix made of this video, which I personally don't like, but some people might find it interesting:

Next good singer is beatiful Alizée. She is my favourite…!!, not only for her beautiful voice and the nice songs she made, but also for her good looks and charisma!

This was her first hit:

Another great song I love: (this one live in concert)

She has so many good others but I think these two should suffice as an example.

Kylie Minogue’s not bad either:

And how about these two – funny Russian duo: (chuckle;))

I was trying to find an English version of this song with the same video, but couldn’t. So just let it be.

Sooo... to conclude my introduction, I wanna invite everyone to write about any good and talented female singers they know about. They don't even have to be famous in Canada or North America, they can be from all around the world and sing in any language... I myself have listened to singers from different countries and in languages that I couldn't understand, but nevertheless liked their music. So this let me to think that other people might enjoy listening to foreign music too, hey, music is music :) Also, please post your comments and opinions about the ladies above, how you liked or disliked their music (and remember to praise Alizée of course ;)).

Ciao!!

Isn't a good singer a subjective issue?

I'd love to talk to someone who thinks that, lol!

Russia has much more to offer in terms of singers, and TaTu are hardly a decent example

they are just mediocre

and how is it subjective?:conf:

Kelly Sweet: she has a fantastic voice!

p.s. Alizee was france's answer to britney spears. I assume you don't understand french because if you did you would notice the lyrics are pathetic lol

*edit*

Oh yes, Alizee is also known for not singing live (lipsynching).
Cribby
Used to be a fan of Kate Ryan until she changed her style to pop during the release of her 2nd album. I LOVED her french stuff though.
