^^^^That is such a good track man!!!
Anyway...I recently made a track without one and everyone told me to make a breakdown. FFS, why? It doesn't HAVE to have a breakdown  |

| not in general but it helps some tracks to increase the tension and make them more interesting. |

its very rare to have a song that has absolutely no breakdown at all unless its techno
i know alot of popular songs that have very small breakdowns that only last maybe 8 bars |

| I'm not totally sure but I think Storm Animal by Lostit.com or something like that didn't have a breakdown - was realesed on Perfecto bout 4 or 5 years ago |

Revolt - "Dive Into the Deep" has maybe eight beatless bars. The "breakdown" is longer than that, but it doesn't have any of the "two / three minutes without beat or bass" stuff going on.
Lots of older tracks have a single breakdown that lasts like 30 or 45 econds.
I love trance tracks with no breakdowns or short breakdowns. Wish people made more of them. |

Breakdown, to me, is something that allows room the buildup and then the fat drop. You get excited, beat drops back in, it's rad.
That's not to say you can't have some buildup and a chorus drop without a breakdown right? I agree, it would be cool to hear some breakdown-less buildups... if you know what I mean.
Is that an oxy-moron? "Breakdown-less buildup" |

I wouldn't say so. You can build up the energy of a track many different ways. It just takes real music composition skill :) |
