West needs to get shut down by some true rappers. He makes 'hits' so I don't consider him a part of hiphop, he's more in the category of Top 40 for me, kinda like mainstream junk.
The only ones part of that 'loosely associated' crew of his that deserves any real recognition are: pharrell, common, and talib. West over glorifies himself, it's what riches do to the already spoiled. At this point Kanye West produces pop music, not hip-hop.
He is on so many levels it isn't even funny, and the only positive activity that he could possibly engage (from my POV) is a murder-suicide with 50 Cent.
