Hey guys.
I've just got my hands on a Radium 49 midi controller keyboard and I'm having some trouble with it - I dont get any signal from it in my software (Reason, Ableton).
I've installed the drivers "by the books", and everything seems to be ok, but Reason doesn't recognize it/ doesn't recieve anything from the keyboard. It's not the keyboard, since just yesterday I've tried it on another computer, and everything worked fine with Reason. I was wondering if anyone had similar problems and could help?
The PC I'm trying to run it on has a Creative SB Live soundcard with KX Drivers and Windows XP, and I also had that MIDI YOKE drivers (for the virtual midi keyboard) so I uninstalled them as an attempt to make things work. But that also didn't help.
Any ideas of what I should do? I suppose I could reinstall my OS and try again but I'm hoping there's a faster solution...
Oh yeah and I'm using the USB connection, if that's something I should mention...
Thanx in advance, peace
(p.s. tried googling it seems like I'm the only person that ever had any problems with Radium 49 :( ) |

dumb question...did you turn the power switch on? |

no joking :D actually after I've bought my keyboard I realized the power switch was hidden terribly on it's back... :D
I can't offer any other advice :(
bet you have checked the midi input settings...
maybe you could check if it's sending midi signal on channel 1?
that's all I can think of... |

One more thing, turn the keyboard on a few seconds before you launch your sequencer... |

did everything you said already (channel is 1, no install errors etc). The thing is, everything looks ok, in the reason preferences menu / control surfaces and keyboards/ edit/ i can select the USB input from the keyboard but when I try to detect it (find button) it fails to do so. Tried reinstalling the drivers a few times already, but that doesnt seem to be the problem.
Anyway thanx for you help guys, appreciate it.. I'm pretty sure this is some stupid driver/software issue so I'm gonna do a "format C:\" and start over, hoping it'll work. |

LOL. Radium 49? You mean Radium Forty-VaGINE.
Weird that you are having such a horrible problem with it. It depends on the computer I suppose, my buddy Dan has a Radium 49 and he has to constantly re-install the drivers whenever Reason just decides to stop "seeing" it.
I however, haven't had a problem yet. Just make sure the Radium 49 is in "Program 1" mode, and when you set up the midi device you are using a "Newer Model" Radium 49.
Good luck. And I want pics if you smash your mobo/radium |

well I've sent an email to M-audio tech support and we'll see if they can help anyhow.. I've even tried messing with my bios and usb modes but some big doesn't allow this to happen.
Maybe I should get a proper midi cable and a power adapter... fck :whip:
ok, pics, I'll make a note ;) |
