A1: SPELLBOUND
B1: SPELLBOUND (DUB)
B2: UNDER THE SYCAMORE TREE

Samples

release date 17.09.07

I can't believe spellbound has come out of innervisions. Given, it's not the most forward thinking label out there, but I've always been pleased with their releases. This one is straight up cheese. The dub of spellbound is tolerable but my god, it seems a like the term 'regressive house' is in play here. At first spellbound seems like, maybe this can be OK for a gig with a more mainstream crowd, end of the night type thing. Then the vocals come in and instantly it loses any vibe that it may have had.

On the other hand

Under the sycamore tree is pure sex. love those clap/rim breaks. and that funky lava bassline. i will be playing this one like mad

I wish I could listen to samples right now... Love Worgull, can't believe he'd put out something as cheese as you're describing, but I definitely trust your judgment so we'll wait and see.

Glad to see Chad White and Memphis getting some recognition. He has a very soulful voice. Love The Sun Can't Compare....definitely will check this one out.

good release..Innervisions. The less Ame releases the better.

they're all pretty nice productions, but I can't tolerate the phrasing of the vocals with their emphasis on trite lyrics. i know they're going for that deep house soul standard with a live singer, but I never really buy that unless it's live and in the proper venue with the proper crowd. this is just sort of trite in the ian van dahl artist album sense

the dub is OK, but it's just nothing new for me. it's well done and it will do its job in a club.

i think what really bothers me is just that bassline

probably being overcritical here, maybe its just bad memories of playing frat parties catching up with me. i throw up a little everytime i imagine that crowd liking an innervisions release

dub and Sycamore are decent. Original slays my ears.
