Unfortunately, most of this is due to weakness in the US dollar as opposed to strength in the Canadian. Either way... I think my next vacation will be to the US... I need a new home theater system.

edit - for those unfamilure with the Canadian and US markets; most consumer goods are less expensive in the US then Canada due to their lower taxes and costs of goods sold (everything from transport, to labour, manufacturing taxes, is lower so the ultimate cost of just about any given item is also lower).

Toronto... $3.75 - $8 for a beer (depends on the bar), $150 - $200 for a standard type hotel room ($100 in the 'burbs)

Thats is NOT cheap! :( $6 would be max for me. Anything more is ripping the hole. Hmm still meant to be an excellent place.

most places its >$5, however, some of the trendier places in the financial district ass you bad. Truthfully, anyplace you'd be interested in hanging out will likely be in the $4-5 range.
