does anyone else read these for a good laugh? when i was living with my aunt & uncle, i used to read them every night in the local paper because they lived in a fairly wealthy but very small town, so they were guaranteed to be absolutely ridiculous (72 year old man reports sounds of a cat crying, 2 teens are seen skateboarding in the park after dusk, silly stuff like that).
now that i'm living in Milwaukee again i've started reading the police blotter on the local news sites. they're a lot more intense (lots of shootings/assaults/etc), but the weird little random ones still crack me up for some reason. |

but yeah, cause i saw two guys crash their car going like 65 and then ditch the car, and i got nothing but contempt for car thieves |

| Since I've moved from a small town to the big city, I've grown to love prostitution stings in the hood. I'm like "Look at her she is really hot, and dressed skanky" "Wait a minute, she's on the job" "Wait a minute, anyone doing that job can't be that hot" , the girls the cops get are always super hot. It's fun to watch them work thier mojo:p |

I love reading the local rag for that stuff. There is a page which we call "the assaults page" really court proceedings.
So funny to read "The Police Officer informed the defendant *same surname as always* of *same as always* Road that his police motorbike was not running a taxi service and they would not return him home, at this point the defendant became aggressive" few weeks later you hear the same guy doing something else lol :D |

sure is! here's your proof:
10100 block of W. Fond du Lac Ave. - A 41-year-old man was hit with an artificial leg Sept. 3.
6700 block of W. Carmen Ave. - A 72-year-old woman was punched and bitten around 1 a.m. Sept. 2.
A nylon bag with an English 101 pamphlet, total value of $4, was reported stolen Sept. 10 from outside the Union Bookstore.
A witness notified police that a female student, a resident of Sandburg Hall North Tower, had knives in her possession. The 18-year-old student admitted to police she did have two steak knives, a pocket knife she carried for protection and a hacksaw she had used to cut a metal shelf. The knives were confiscated. |

Katie DeLong
MILWAUKEE - A man died after ingesting two small plastic bags containing cocaine while running from police, a department spokeswoman said Thursday.
Anne E. Schwartz said the man apparently swallowed two 8-balls, or one-eighth of an ounce each, of the drug Wednesday.
The man had denied when he was arrested that he ingested the drugs, she said.
Further information about the case was not immediately released. |

Lol, Milwaukee is awesome - there was a line of crackheads 6 deep asking for cigarettes and change at Alterra this morning, and when I got inside everyone was talking about their experience with the aforementioned crackheads on the way in.
The experience really brought us together, gave us a sense of community, and made the big city not feel quite so scary and cold. :gsmile: |
