That is not true. If you lift weights you WILL lose weight as you burn calories....but your building muscle which is more heavy then fat. If you want some great reading material I would suggest you goto www.johnstonefitness.com his forums have TONS of good information. Good luck.

Find a closest MMA or boxing gym. I can almost guarantee that they will have some sort of a program to get you in shape. I practice MMA and it honestly provides the best all around workout you could imagine

no seriously. take a cap a day and melt the pounds away. GHB speeds up your metabolism. its even a good workout supplement. it used to be used in this fashion before it was banned. it used to be sold at GNC.

it's nearly guaranteed that you'll lose weight in no time in MMA or boxing.

also walk/run/hike/bike/eat smaller meals(snacks) often instead of a lot in fewer meals/ more often.

what you must do is create a "caloric deficit", which means the amount of calories you burn in a given day must be greater than the number of ty calories you consume.

ty calories = saturated fats, fast-digesting carbs anytime other than one hour before or after exercise, slow-digesting carbs after 5pm, whey protein anytime other than one hour before or after exercise.

want specifics? i'll pick apart a diet like it's my job, because you can easily find 300-400 ty calories in a non-chiseled diet, while it's highly unlikely you're burning that much (or more) in a day.

45 min of variable intensity cardio (after weight training), and work on that diet. post every thing you eat on Friday if you'd like some help.

My best advice is consistency: have a plan, and use a diary / workout book, and jot in what you've been doing.

ie. Workout 3x/week, 45 minute sessions. Do it, and jot it down in the diary..

That alone allowed me to focus and I gained a few kgs in muscle.
