The thing is, I post as often if not more often about games I'm enjoying than the ones I don't like - it's just that this forum is so littered with gimp fanboys who can't take the slightest criticism, which leads to the incessant whining when anyone criticizes one of your precious franchises. |
dude, I call BULL!!!
Thats just the Wii remote up your talking. |

idk dude
i wasn't overwhelmed or anything, but i think its pretty good
and i had metroid prime 1 for the gamecube, and everything was amazing EXCEPT the controls, which were ing horrendous
and please tell me you turned the sensitivity and dificulty to max, because until i did the game kinda sucked, but once i was able to turn at a rate that made sense and had to actually try, it got a lot better
idk, its seriously nothing that that amazing, but i think its pretty solid
and dont even get me started on bioshock |

I'd love for you to start... either you like it or you don't, no big deal, but I'd love to hear why (I think I gave ample reason for not caring for this). |

| honestly, people that don't see the creative genius in bioshock know all about game design. |

| Loved the first Metroid Prime. 2 was a big disappointment, mainly because the developers clearly were lazy, using so many of the same enemies, sounds, and level design of the first one. It was more of an expansion pack than anything so I lost interest in it quickly. 3 looked almost just like the first 2. I sure hope at least this time they got new sound samples and all new enemy characters because otherwise that is some serious lazy mofos that make this series. |

I'm gonna be honest, I've heard from several people, many of which played and enjoyed at least one of the other Primes, that MP3 is a disappointment. After the novel Wiimote controls wear off, the game becomes bland and repetitive. This is SECOND-HAND, so dont give me on this, I'm just backing RJT and saying that his opinion isnt the only one like it.
I have a feeling a lot of Wii games are going to be like this, since developers think they can rely on the gimmicky "turn your wrist and something happens" approach. I just hope Super Mario Galaxy or, good god, the almighty Smash Bros Brawl dont follow similar paths. Im pretty sure SSBB is impossible to up, though. |

K, here's the thing. Bioshock is designed absolutely beautiful. The ambience, the graphics, the sound, its all gorgeous, no debate there. However, I found the gameplay to be fairly boring. Still better than a fair chunk of games, but nowhere near what i expected. I played it into the wee hours of the night the day I got it, about an hour the day after, and haven't had the slightest urge to go back to it. It was well designed all in all, but good graphics and good looking scenery aren't going to keep me playing when the actual action of the game's a bore. And don't tell me to play it under the right conditions, I was playing with a projector (~80" screen) and headphones turned way up in the dark. |

| the gameplay is in the story and the ambience. the "action" of the game is merely there to keep you busy whilst you explore. and honestly, i have yet to see a shooter with more ways to deal with your enemies than bioshock. if you were playing the game simply for the shooter aspect im not surprised you were disappointed. |

so whats the point of the game then?
i tried to treat it as more of a story-oriented game and but then the fighting is still just as tedious and annoying
idk, maybe i'll give it another shot
really really didn't impress me though |

hey, it all comes down to personal taste really. but yeah, i found the storyline and maps so engrossing i didnt really consider the shooting all that important at all! i find the numerous ways in which you can kill enemies to be really entertaining :) like setting trap bolts on the ceiling and putting tornados on the floor, and watching the tornado send the enemy into the trap. cool! :tongue2
i certainly didnt find the fighting tedious, but again, if the fighting is what's central to you in a game then bioshock probably isnt for you. |

Exactly. Bioshock, to me anyway, isn't designed for the average FPS fan who just wants to jump in and "run & gun" as it were.
And I also don't understand how the fighting was "tedious" - I found the combat anything but repetitive, and finding new ways to progress through areas was a ton of fun.
I haven't seen the level of depth and freedom to play how you want to that's in Bioshock since games like Fallout. |
