I'm planning on getting dj headphones, but wondering at the same time if they're effective for producing? Throw me your two cents

The Sony 7506 have been proven as production headphones for years and are also used heavily in the DJ world.

with a 20-year history

i am currently listening in mdrv6 (same thing, just not a gold plated connector), they're a bit smaller than what i'm used to, but they're great otherwise! i'm probably going to do the earpad mod soon though.

Do tell about this earpad mod.

you replace the earpads with those of another model headphones and it supposedly feels better...i don't know the details but there are discussions about it all over the intertubes...search for it and check it out

personally though i'm pretty happy with my mdr-v6's, in all respects

p.s. has anyone here actually done the mod? how do you like it?

the The Beyer DT250 pads are said to fit the v6 perfectly and are softer; i think i saw pvd use this mod.

people say it changes the sound: makes the bass stronger, but mids weaker:
