This undated photo released by the Green family to KTVT TV shows sisters from left, Alexandria, Adamiria, and Ariania. Ariania Green, the youngest of the three girls who were doused with gasoline and burned in Haltom City last weekend, died Tuesday, Sept. 18 in a Dallas hospital. The girls's 29-yer-old mother, Alysha Green, is accused of coaxing her children into a closet and burning them Saturday. She had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder but stopped taking her medication, according to documents filed in the case.
A mother accused of dousing her three young daughters with gasoline and setting them on fire, killing one, was charged Thursday with capital murder.
Alysha Green's 3-year-old daughter, Ariania, died after being removed from life support Tuesday, three days after the fire at their home in Haltom City, a Fort Worth suburb.
Her two older daughters, 5-year-old Alexandria and 7-year-old Adamiria, remain hospitalized, but their conditions are not being released.
Prosecutors said they have not decided whether to seek the death penalty against Green, 29. She also has been charged with serious bodily injury to a child, which carries a maximum penalty of life in prison.
Green, who also remained hospitalized Thursday, does not yet have an attorney, according to court records.
Green told an officer that she burned her children because she was mad at her husband, according to police records. The husband told authorities Green had bipolar disorder but hadn't been taking her medication, according to other records. |

Hopefully the prosecutors decide to put this woman out of her own misery and give her the death penalty. No meds or not, this woman simply does not deserve to live. What a horrible, horrible story this is. |

Unfortunately there is no death penalty by torture option - so at least save the tax payers dollars of lifetime in prison, and send her on her way..... easy way out, sure... but at least it's a hell of a lot cheaper. |

yea it sucks.. they should just pin her down and let drops of water fall onto her forehead for the rest of her life.. doesnt cost alot of taxpayer money |

| Doesn't the father deserve some of the blame here? He knew his wife was nuts, he knew she was off her meds, and clearly he left the children in her care. him too. |

Horriffic story. My initial reaction is also a toturous one. But playing the blame game and vengence does nothing.
It's impossible to fathome an act so cruel. This woman is obviously loco and can not be trusted as a normal member of society. However killing her does nothing.
I don't know about the varying levels of severity of bi-polar disorder (one of my friends has it, and quite capable of managing if he takes his pills) but maybe parents diagnosed with serious mental conditions should lose full custody of their children ??? or be required to be tested for the medication weekly ????
This should not have happened. I agreet that if anyone could have done something to avert this it was the father, and then the grand parents if they were still alive. My mom would never trust the grandkids alone with me if my ass was diagnosed with a severe medical condition. |
