i have very limited access to the intarweb right now so im just going to post here what i was going to write to you in the PM:
there certainly are direct flights to Brussels. and for a good price in november!! search these sites for price comparison and purchase (the best in my opinion)
kayak.com
sidestep.com
itasoftware (great for price searches but u cant purchase on that site)
kayak.com offers american airline flights from jfk to brussels nonstop for $490. very nice price. i would definitely NOT recommend going to berlin first and taking the train unless you are 1. going to be spending time in berlin (i recommend this, as its my favorite city evar!!!) and 2. ready to spend some major cash on the train to brussels. flights from jfk to berlin tegel (try to get tegel airport, much easier to get to the center of berlin from there than schoenefeld airport) are $455 roundtrip on united/lufthansa (lufthansa for the win!) with one stop, most likely in frankfurt. anyway go to raileurope.com for prices on trains, but it will most likely cost you around USD 220 roundtrip for a train ticket from berlin to brussels and its about a 7 hour trip. lotta cash and a long ride but im sure its ridiculously beautiful. plus, with the exchange in general, prices in europe are ridiculous. ing sandwich now costs me like 9 USD!
so my 2 questions would be:
how much time are you spending in europe?
whats ur total budget? |

Thanks a lot. As of right now I'll only be there about a week, unless my job doesn't approve me taking days off. If that happens then I'll probably quit and extend my stay LOL :stongue: . Maybe it would be best then to just fly into Brussels first, then try making trips out from there :conf: . I'll definitely take a look at those sites. $490 sounds better than what I've been seeing on orbitz.com etc. The places that seem relatively close, while still outside of Belgium are Paris, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam. Maybe those might be better prospects. As far as my budget goes eerm.. for just one week I would hope not to have to spend much more than $500 - $600 (not including transit). :eyespop: .. but I won't be going there broke or anything.;)
*edit* $9 for a freakin' sammich!? Jeez, the USD is like freakin' Pesos  :wtf: :( . |

lol @ pesos.. listen.. i would recommend that, if you really wanna visit berlin, it's cheaper and faster taking a plane there. as per your post in GTA...there are a few clubs worth going to in FrankfArt but otherwise it's basically one huge financial district kinda city while berlin is just awesome inside-out, daytime or nighttime, etc etc etc. kayak.com generally wont list a lot of cheap airlines that do fly to brussels.. as far as i know, these are the airlines that fly to brussels in general (i dont know if they have berlin-brussels flights but the ones in bold definitely do, and for cheap!):
Lufthansa FTW!!!!!! It will cost you like 100 bucks if you book it ahead of time.. much cheaper than a train!!!
others (that probably suck)
Alitalia
Brussels Airlines MUST CHECK this website, VERY CHEAP!!!! maybe cheaper than lufthansa!!!
JetairFly
JetOnly
On Air
Ryanair
XL Airways
BOOK AHEAD OF TIME!!!! especially for low-cost flights. i cannot recommend that enough! or you will get screwed and pay a lot at the end. right now it's hella cheapola.
p.s. orbitz blows monkeyballs. |
