Halo is a great example of what good marketing is.

RJT puts it extremely well: it's for the lowest common denominator (I think you stole that from me...). People who just started playing video games when it became the cool thing to do (last gen). This game does nothing revolutionary or evolutionary to the shooter genre yet there's actual gimps that believe this game (or series) is the be-all, end-all series of video gaming.

In reality, it's an 8/10 at best

Its a very stupid game... the first one. I had more fun playing doom2 or castle wolfenstien, thats for sure.

Why do people like to play it is beyond me, have they not touched a computer game before xbox came out?

Is it to hard for you guys to understand that maybe people just like playing on a console more? Get over yourselves :stongue:

nobody here is making this a system debate. and of course people enjoy consoles more- theyre just as much fun, with a 10th as much hassle. great for having friends round, and everything just works all the time (or mostly hehe). the console market has developed some brilliant franchises, especially in fighting and survival horror.

but- that doesn't make halo a good game now does it? if people love their shooters and love to play online, i just dont understand why halo would be the poison of choice.

look mate, you're wrong. it IS the same type of game, as i tried to explain to you. the fact that you think its hard to classify shows a sincere lack of understanding or experience. its a DM game, just slow and .

You didnt explain. So this is the more wordy form of 'Yes it is!' and doesnt follow any kindof logical arguement at all.

Don't start repeating yourself instead of creating some kindof arguement. I grow tiresome of such over-grown ego boosted bull.

shall i get you some tissues?

Yeah, please. Im glad you managed to point out the fact that I managed to miss the textual form of crying out: Wah. Wah.

That is the lack of maturity.

you ing tool. any decent quake player would rape any halo player any day of the week. dont parade your ignorance. halo is a fanboy game, pure and simple. had it been a PC title it would have failed simply coz we have many better shooters already available.

I'd rather be a tool than a fanboy mate. I accept that you like other things. I even accept your blind loyalty to them. (Yeah, I said blind. I've played these games and maybe ten years ago they stood up to your arcaic views and dumb divisions between the two different types of games.) You however, spit at anyone who dare's claim their favourite game defeats yours. You are the true fanboy.

If you only react this way when somone claims Halo is God, why have you attacked me? I didnt say Halo was anything, let alone god-like. Hell, I got Halo3 yesterday and I thought the singleplayer was vastly underwhelming. Not at all being the 'Experience' Bungie claimed but I've known since the release of Halo2 they where ing liars.
