Addy's Afterparty Bday Bash: pix

I apologize if there's already a review thread for this specific event, and this post falls under that. Regardless, I've had a bunch of people asking me to post the pix i took at Addy's vip bday bash because apparently precious few pictures were taken.

Without further delay...(and yeah, i know this comes a little late!)

Sunday - September 16

Kellbell and I hit cz in the morning along with Leap...she had to work in the afternoon, so we enjoyed Nathan and Anthony Attalla's set together, then a bbq lunch at Tyler and Kristy's place before heading to the Docks for Sunday afternoon/evening festivities.

I was kinda hyped for this event...ok, i was really hyped for it, because I had the honour and privilege of working on some of the artwork for the event (WARNING: shameless self-pat-on-the-back)

I was really proud of how this piece came out...

In a cruel twist of fate, i changed my batteries right before hitting the docks to my camera to ensure high-powered-camera-goodness, only to discover that the batteries were dead. Completely dead. *shakes fist at God---then immediately repents for fear of being struck by lightning!*

The main docks party was relatively chill... people were dancing, but it was a very social occasion, with the music (to me) almost as a backdrop. The party ended crisply at 10 pm and everyone was ushered out. It looked to me like instead of VIP passes going to select few--EVERYONE had them! (which made sense to my friends and I--the more the merrier!)

In line, we found out that it would cost $10 to get in. Some ppl grumbled, but i thought, big whoop... let's do this and get some dancing done! I was eager to dance after socializing so much during the evening.

Suddenly, the line stopped--the club had filled to capacity. After a qhile, I txt'd a friend inside letting him know we likely wouldn't get in...but to have a great time. We prepared to leave (heh, probably back to zone) when the line started moving! I guess the people who got in early were partied out, and left, opening up some space in the club. Either that, or they opened up the back section (front doors area) for people to dance, expanding the occupancy.

The tunes were BUMPING! Kellyboop and I agreed that Behrouz brought a great sound to the club...and watching both Addy and Behrouz on the decks at the same time was great. The set reminded me very much of a Victor Calderone or DJ Vibe set--Kellyboop agreed; we were in heaven. EVERYONE was dancing their asses off!

Enough rambling... here's the pix I managed to snap...

Sara!!

Kellyboop! BOOYAH!

Dunno this dude. What's those funny things in his ears?

Da man of the hour, DJ Addy!

Great lighting and atmosphere inside the liberation lounge...totally packed, at midnight on a Sunday night!

Behrouz and Addy both on the decks

Nathan Barato paying his respects on Dj Addy's bday--Nathan was BEAT after a marathon of spinning that weekend. Much respect brother.

'nuff said.

Met these guys at zone a month or two ago. Super guys--great vibe.

Joe Manzone dances it up to the beats of Behrouz

Get that number...!

LOVE the open back shirts. JP and Leap have a few good ones.

....I think that's Greg!

Racing Schmucky on lakeshore to go north on Spadina. Guess where we're headed?

Conclusion: we had a GREAT time. Amazing vibe for a SUNDAY night. Thankfully, I had Monday off. Lots of good people, fantastic music, and the catering from EDEN trattoria was pretty good too! This was a great way to close the summer off, and the support and fandom from people towards this DJ on his birthday was absolutely evident. Addy spinning most of the time seemed a little opposite--he was giving us a gift on his bday instead of the reverse--but that's ok, we'll take it.

Can't wait to check out Addy @ Circa, along with Victor Calderone on October 7th. It'll be quite the experience.
