And one other thing about the night that in hindsight just seems really cool to me is this...

i played a little more progressive and intelligent than i do on the road but i think i can get away with that easy here in chicago and it seems it worked.

I've seen Blake play a handful of times now, and every time it's been pretty different depending on the context of the set (Opening, headlining in Milwaukee, headlining in Chicago, etc.), but never once has it ever felt awkward or like he was "trying" to hard to play outside of what he's able to.
I think it's unbelievably impressive to be able to entertain such vastly different crowds, play such different styles on different nights, and still just own the place.
Great job again. And Ben - I want a copy of "City Streets," keep us posted on the release info.

Also, who played the Jim Rivers mix of Oliver Moldan - "Club 69"?
That one went down silky smooth as well. :)
Big up for the trainspotters, eh?
:p |

yeah, it took me 10 minutes to realize that the song we were going crazy over was the 16 Bit Lolitas remix of Love and Solace. :stongue:
[boy did i ever feel like an idiot... although it did sound about 100 times more amazing on a club system than it does on my headphones at work, which is the only place i've listened to it before]
btw, Blake - what remix of Lotta Lovin' was it that you played? |

| Awesome night! It was surprised to hear Blake play Will Saul- Cliff (infusion remix). One of my favs and made my night. I have not heard that played out in years. |

i hadnt either and its such a banger
i was listening to it the other day and for being so old its still sounds so fresh. alot of the techniques they used in that remix are things people like prydz are using today (shortening the decay on the kick until the bassdrop, miticulous arrangments and mixdowns, filling up space with reverb, etc). i think those guys were on such a different level back then. |
