Meh, the singleplayer is over-hyped and the graphics are relatively poor. Im not sure wether that has anything to do with not having a HD, Ill know tonight because Im getting one so that I may record myself annihilating my mates.

I felt the story could've been a bit more epic and the end story device for killing the flood being another Halo was pretty lame. The singleplayer could've been larger scale, although actually fighting the Scarab tanks this time round was a nice touch the scale simply wasnt large enough to make me feel like I was taking part in a war.

The multiplayer I havnt experienced yet, promising a mate I wouldnt touch it until the weekend but from what I've seen ofit its muchly improved from Halo2's badly designed and almost completely non-skillful multiplayer gameplay.

Ill probably post here on monday, flaming or congratulating myself on my purchase.

Says The Arbiter lol! I really wish I had a 360 for this though. Maybe I'll get one some day...

Yeah but admit it. The cool part about halo is killing your friends not the boring single player.

if you like multiplayer why n ot just play a computer online fps?

because Halo 3 is currently just for Xbox 360

Graphics = Still poor. Extremely disappointing for a developer that has always managed to impress when it comes to graphics.

Multiplayer: Good so far. Me and five other mates speant about 12 hours total onit this weekend and it didnt get old. I can't see it lasting though, battles are far too short and evidently the players shield and 'health' being far too weak to stand up to the weapons. I feel this was Bungies attempt to reduce skill in the game without ignoring calls for more skillful weapons. It's still considerably more skillful than Halo2 but it seems the glory days of the origonal Halo are long gone.

I won Halo 3 in the Pontiac "First to Own" contest. So when I got it on the Saturday before it came out, I beat it on Legendary by myself. The Flood level is a bitch.
Spike
any of you guys get the rind of death while playing?

i wanna yell at people for calling the flood level hard...but there might be another one
in fact, there most definitely is another one :wtf:

someone who's beaten it: how far am i? i'm at the second scarab, the one where you gotta take the knees out first
and holy that thing doesn't want to die. its got this big green lazer you can hear charging, sounds like someone starting to yell, some definite shooping of da woop. anyways, i've cleared all the minions from the interior, and i find the thing i have to blow up to kill it (or thats what you do the first time around). i shoot 6 fuel rod cannon shots at it and its still living. then i hear the charging sound (louder than usual), and ING EXPLODES. my body went flying literally across the map, and i thought i was about to see some cool cutscene or some lame 'oh wait, he's alive' , but no. i just died. that scarab commited hari-kari rather than let me kill it
WHAT THE

edit: lol, so after some careful consideration, i realized that after started flashing red and whatnot...i probably should've jumped off and got clear before it blew up
lol

*Spoilers*

In the Pillar of Autumn Flood level there is one part that took me 30 tries.

It was this room with three stories you had to climb to the top through 20 various flood creatures. They have the normal looking flood, the crab kind that can transform, the giant hunk kind, and then the super annoying beaver bush tail shooter that kills you from the other side of the room.

What really sucked up to that point was that I didn't have much in weaponry; just a few carbine shots and the Flamethrower. Well, the flamethrower didn't help at all because it was too slow. After about 20 tries I figured out that I had to make a run for the invisible, and then use it so that when I would have enough time to run out in the open and be invisible for the entire duration or else I would suffer from the dreaded beaver needle death.

I ing hate those crab flood. You shoot and shoot and they don't die! But a simple melee works instantly...

The second scarab was definitely the hardest fight for me because not only did I have to avoid getting shot by the green laser which you can't disable(WTF?!), but you also have the ghosts, brute choppers, and the plasma cannon wielding grunts with impeccable aim. I think I just killed all of the easier enemies first before taking out the scarab with hit and run tactics. It's much harder to kill the scarab if you don't activate some kind of hidden checkpoint to get your human allies to distract the covanent ground forces.
