Actually, the effect of thujon is cumulative over days... for maximum effect have several glasses per night for a week or so. |

There are two brands stocked by the LCBO... one has no Thujon the other has 5mg. 5mg is not enough to give you any effect. If you want absinthe for the taste then either is alright (neither are very good but not bad) but if you're looking for the effect then you'll have to order it from oversees.
BTW, I've had King of Spirits and Absinthium 1792 (neither are sold here). King of Spirits is stronger but not as good (if taste is a concern for you), Absinthium 1792 is a little less strong (which is still really in' strong) but tastes much better. Try absinth24.net, they have King of Spirits, Absinthium 1792, and Thul Red. I've orded from them before, they're reasonable and reliable. It will take 4-6 weeks for your order to be delivered.

Maybe because the absinthe you ordered is illegal in Canada.
I brought back a few bottles of Absinthe when I was in Vienna and they had to give me documentation that stated the ingredients in the absinthe and that it was legal to import into canada.
PS. Anyone try Absinthe and Red Bull?
HOLY . I had 2 shots of absinthe and Red Bull before Menno in July and it completely ed me up. Not in the hallucination way, just ed up overall. |

I thought so too, but I tried removing everything else except Absinthium 1792(that I assume 'Moral Hazard' had delivered to him) and still same msg :( |

| I remember doing a bit of research on absinthe, and basically finding out that the whole concept of it is just overhyped bollocks. You need like 30mg of the Thujone in order to feel the "proper" effects of Absinthe, and nobody legally stocks that (and if they do, good luck getting it into Canada). The legal absinthe has like 10mg MAX, so int he end, it's just really strong alcohol. Get a bottle of Bacardi 151, and you'll get the same goal with none of the hassles. |

I have several bottles of Everclear 151 & 190 - I just prefer the taste of Absinth.(1792 in particular) no other substitute for me. |
