I have a budget of about $1,000 to spend on a small sound setup for live gigs. I've been thinking about the 700W B-52 Matrix setup but I have a feeling that I could do better for the money. The $1,000 needs to include speakers, sub (if any), and amp(s).
This would be primarily for house parties. I spin electro and the two other DJs that I gig with on a regular basis spin trance and house. (I'm buying a setup for us to use because the guy that we used to borrow a setup from is moving out of state.) We usually spin in front of between 80 and 150 people. It really depends on where we are.
Suggestions? |

A second-hand single Mackie SRM450 and a SWA1501 sub. You might be able to get them for $1000 total. Got to have a sub for EDM.
A second SRM450 won't sound that much different in a small place. You can get one later. |

+1 I used to use the Matrix 1000 for mobile DJing. Solid setup for the price. Should be able to get it for less than $1000 easily. |
