{{{Tell ya what. I'll list out the 5 filters of the propaganda model, you explain IN DETAIL why each of these filters is not true. Please review each filter, understand what each means, and provide your arguments preferably in line with an alternative model of reference (otherwise i have no use to debate you on this one). Here goes...
1. Ownership of the medium
The first filter, ownership, notes that most major media outlets are owned by large corporations.
2. Medium's funding sources
The second, funding, notes that the outlets derive the majority of their funding from advertising, not readers. Thus, since they are profit-oriented businesses selling a product — readers and audiences — to other businesses (advertisers), the model would expect them to publish news which would reflect the desires and values of those businesses.
3. Sourcing
In addition, the news media are dependent on government institutions and major businesses with strong biases as sources (the third filter) for much of their information.
4. Flak
Flak, the fourth filter, refers to the various pressure groups which go after the media for supposed bias and so on when they go out of line.
5. Anti-communist ideology
Norms, the fifth filter, refer to the common conceptions shared by those in the profession of journalism. (Note: in the original text, published in 1988, the fifth filter was "anticommunism". However, with the fall of the Soviet Union, it has been broadened to allow for shifts in public opinion).

Hey Krypton, found out you were wrong about yet another thing today.
Talked to my Finance teacher in regards to America's debt. He said that it's not an issue, and if need be the US government can raise taxes....in 30 years from now! Or sometime between now and 30 years it budget itself a little better, and stop loaning so much money to other countries.
So much for your economic doomsday scenario.
Please feel free to keep trying to call me out. You only make yourself look like a bigger loser in the process. |

Did your teacher publish any of his findings somewhere I can verify? Or am I supposed to take your word? I don't give a rat's ass what your teacher told you. Hearsay is not an argument. I don't know what your teacher told you because I wasn't there! Now, do you want to prove your point with some sort of googled up evidence? Or do you just want to keep telling happy little story's as a decrepit argument? It's really easy. Go to google and type in WHATEVER THE YOU WANT!! Use it, you'll probably find some truth when you actually research your own views and others views.
Or you could answer my direct questions to you with a specific rebuttal or concede the debate...It's pretty easy.

Dude, I don't give a flying about your teacher. I can't verify your ing teacher about what he said to you. Unless you can prove to me that your view of the news channels, which can hardly be called anything but your unsupported speculation, is wrong, then you should stop talking out of your ASS. I read the Scotsman which is a similar 'level' intellectually. It's one of the 'broadsheets' that is real news papers, which focus on real news as opposed to entertainments. |

Thats what all the 'news' channel is about in my country.. I heard Taiwan suffers the same fate..
