Recommend me a midi controller!

I'm gonna be in the market soon, and I want to start asking around now. Looking for something ideally 88 keys, or something close to it, and as close to the feel of real piano keys as possible (idk the difference between weighted and semi-weighted). But yeah, I write solo piano pieces once in a while and ideally it'd be nice to be able to play them in full instead of just scripting it out.

So yeah, anyone got any recommendations? Oh and for budget...idk, <$300 if possible?

This is probably as cheap as they get, if you want proper hammer action. Stay away from the CME UF series, the drivers are a mess.

remote sl... best midi controller on the market

Try to find out (if there exist yet) something from M-AUDIO. In my opinion is the best choice if you are looking for a budget & quality at the same time.

I tried first with Radium 49 (in its time), but now I think is discontinued, I think that M-Audio Oxygen line is a perfect piece to begin.

But I really recommend that you keep some extra money, the price difference between Oxygen line & Axion line... really worth it.

Cheers!

looked around and the one complaint i saw across the board was the feel of the keys, and ideally i'd like something as close to a real piano as possible

heard anything about m-audio keystation?

i mean, i don't need lots of knobs and , just a buncha keys that feel pretty realistic

my remote has the best feeling keys(and aftertouch) on any midi controller i've ever played with. remember though, the remote has auto map... so when you load your favorite VST, ie Albino, all of albino's controls get mapped to those knobs, sliders, encoders for you... so now your midi controller just became a hardware synth :)

Which version do you have Anthony? I've been looking into buying one for a while now.
Might pick one up soon. From what I've seen they look great. Might get the ZeRo version or the 25 SL and sell the controller I have now.
How big are they actually? Sorry to hijack btw.

Yeah sure... is the same thing than Radium & Oxygen... but without the knobs & sliders.

Dude... believe me... you really will need it if you are planning to experiment a least a little bit with any DAW. ;)

Cheers!

Great pics! Got a fairly good idea now how big it is, seeing it against other equipment and of course someone using it. Thanks :).
