Hi we are oTrance, we have been producing for a little over 6 months, with over 50 tracks produced.
What started as a hobby we would like to turn into a profession.
oTrance are takes their influence from many artists, too many to name but through listening to many styles and being musically minded (we both have played electric guitar for 4 years, which was self-taught out of interest).
We take our elements from different genres of electronic music.
Drum & Bass, Trance (The main one), House, Dance/Club, Techno etc.
The artists most influencing our work are:
Blake Reary,
PVD,
ATB,
Sterbinzsky & Tranzident
Tranzident & Suta
Verechocha (Ferry Corsten)
Deepest Blue
Chicane
+ many more
As we are not really well known i'd like to get some opinions from people, so please check the link below.

- Ecuador is our newest track go check it out and tell us what you think.
Thanks, oTrance |

hi mate,
listening to ecuador :)
first: track sounds good in the beginning, very very old school '99 stuff, eq, compression all sounds fine but track is missing some depth
i don't mean depth in melodies or noises but there is nothing my ear grabs on to, just a lot of different noises that do in fact work together but all fighting for the same thing?
ahh bassline number at 2:17 is great, was hoping for a bit phatter of one if its giong to be on its own.
anyways the production is solid, excited to hear the next one

agree with that!!!!!
the track its good but to old school for me
meabe some efects for that crash .... sounds to hard and fast.
but bealive me, the track its nice , but like i said, to old school.
i can see you are FL users..... well you should try not to use fl instruments and samples, use external stuff like vsts and HQ samples |

Hi thanks for all the thoughtful comments guys, we are using external vsti's though and not just FL instruments. You were slightly off unless you were referring to the mp3 player in the middle of page, which are our tracks a few months in of producing.
hey, Anthony, keep us posted with your tips. always nice to hear.
-EDIT-
for the approach of this track, we heard a similar sounding bassline in one of the classic trance anthems and decided that was the direction we took, ala, madagascar and greece 2000.

Thanks, but it's over 60 now! :) We produced two new trance tracks tonight, one of which we have released on 'www.myspace.com/otrance'.
We decided to keep the other for vocalisation and additional mastering.
So tonight we just started a vocal track.

am not saying that its bad to make a lot of tracks in a very short time, but i think if you work more on your tracks, you can get better results. i dont mean that if you take more time doing your tracks, that will make them better, but bealive me, it will help.
its just my opinion

Thanks, we don't always produce tracks in a night or two but since we spend long hours on them editing then mastering it helps.
+ If we feel like we don't like parts of a song we go back and master it and change the sounds which we did recently for the song 'Searchlight'.
But don't get me wrong we start mostly around 9-10 and end up working on it till 2-3 am.
Not the first time I heard that though, were used to working fast since there is two of us so we don't get stuck on sounds one always has a direction for it.
Again thanks for the advice keep it coming on the tracks, as I will have our vocal finished tomorrow, which we started today. |
