Interesting way to (not) promote the album.

EDIT:

You can pre-order the download version of the album. And the best thing is that the price is "Up to you" and you can actually put $0.00!

they do not need to promote, their fans do it for them.

also this album sort of has a lot of stuff we've already heard in some form or another...anyways im looking forward to it.

I've always thought this would be the future of the music biz. The "major label" model doesn't have much viability left in it. The money is going to come from live performances and stuff that's prohibitively hard to replicate well like special packaging / accessories.

Radiohead Announce New Album – 'In Rainbows'

by Daniel Zugna - October 1 2007

Radiohead's seventh album will be called 'In Rainbows', and will be available for download on the band's official website from October 10.

Not long after an unofficial new album website was revealed as a hoax, the band's radiohead.com space was updated with release information about the new album.
The band are asking fans how much they'd like to pay for the file download, with the price field left blank alongside a disclaimer "it's up to you".
The album can also be purchased as a £40 made-to order discbox, which according to the site "consists of the new album, in rainbows, on CD and on 2 x 12 inch heavyweight vinyl records. A second, enhanced CD contains more new songs, along with digital photographs and artwork. The discbox also includes artwork and lyric booklets. All are encased in a hardback book and slipcase."

The tracklisting for 'In Rainbows' is as follows:
15 Step
Bodysnatchers
Nude
Weird Fishes / Arpeggi
All I Need
Faust Arp
Reckoner
House Of Cards
Jigsaw Falling Into Place
Videotape
