But I already pulled out of her.
kelsta
She didn't pull out :p

Awesome day/night... highlights were regurgitator & RATM of course :)

Also saw hoods, grinspoon, silverchair, nightwatchman, pnau, goodwill, krafty kuts & bjork... crowd was a bit of a (total) mess but it made for some entertainment :wtf:

Overall exceeded expectations & that's always a bonus.

oh my god that rage moshpit was insane. the first two songs the crowd was just a mess, everyone just went nuts and it was a struggle just to stay upright. after that it seemed like everyone settled and the massive crowd surges stopped and people just went nuts. the dust storms were crazy, i had to take today off work because my lungs and throat are a mess. if they are going to continue at flemington they really need to work on that problem.

other highlights were the nightwatchmen, playing beds are burning as the last song was awesome. also using dirty deeds was very cool. it was a surprise hearing tom morello sing and talk in a texan accent. for a couple of songs his singing was just like johnny cash.

downside were the number of fights i saw, i swear people are just morons. i saw some dude just turn around and king hit someone in the moshpit at the start.

absolutely awesome day, now all i have to do is decide whether i want to try and get tickets to festival hall.

yeah the crowd kinda sucked, but ive seen a LOT worse, but like you said really was entertaining more than anything. so it wasn't too bad

no police presence, although that's no surprise

of the 30 lol people on top of the beer stand, 1 fell off and went away in a neck brace. alcohol + heights isn't always the smartest.. although it was hilarious when the 2 guys tackled each other up on it, best ever!

Only really things, first and mostly, worst venue ever.. dust field ftl, no grass, no shade O_o and having an army of connex security and expecting 1000's of people to buy tickets, let alone there's only TWO people selling tickets and no machines = stupidity.

Lines to get an 18+ wrist band, lines to get itchy and scratchy world money, mega lines for drinks, lines at toilet, lines to get out..
should make it 18+ event only.

and silverchair are the biggest bunch of pussies ever.

TWO casualties and a crowd surge left thousands of fans angry and confused as Melbourne's biggest musical festival, the Big Day Out, ended in mayhem last night.

One unconscious man had to be crowd-surfed to an ambulance, while another fell from a marquee as crowds pushed forward to see the final act, Rage Against the Machine.

Organisers interrupted the American headliners towards the end to appeal to the 45,000-strong crowd for calm.

Revellers said they feared for their safety as the crowd surged towards the main stage and fans climbed every available vantage point at Flemington racecourse.

Organisers rushed the band off stage, and ordered people to climb down from the structures and trees before the band would resume.

Veteran attendee Cameron Oliver, 26, said he saw a lot of violence in the crowd.

Police said they were disappointed with the crowd behaviour and arrested a few people for letting off flares.

"There were quite a few idiots around," one officer said.

Police said the crowd was well behaved. By 10.30 pm there had been only three arrests. Sniffer dogs caught about 30 people with drugs, which police said was typical for this sort of event.

lol talk about herald sun going overboard, and the age going to the other extreme

i felt sorry for some chicks that were caught in the middle of that crowd surge at the start. it was just mayhem.

the stupid thing is the front mosh area was closed off because of fears of overcrowding and the sign said patrons enter at own risk. yet the outside area at the front was far more dangerous because there was just a mass of people trying to get as close as possible. if anyone fell down during those crowd surges it would have been game over.
