Fascinating article in the New Yorker not about Iran, but about Israel. Notice how the writer tries to stay extremely objective, and while interviewing both people on the far right and far left in Israel, you learn a lot about Israeli society as a whole.
I encourage you to read all 6 pages to learn more about the complexities of Israel, as well as the Palestinians.
This is American journalism at its best - very in depth and very revealing.

Another thing to note is that the US embassy is strongly resisting calls from the Senate to partition Iraq:

This shows that our embassies don't just blindly follow orders. The opinions of the people who work at our embassies are valued, and are not always on par with those of some of our political readers.

Great article. I think it offers a great summary of the current political scene in Israel. I found the push for compromise from many sectors, especially business leaders, quite interesting.
