Omg they just released Sonar 6 !! these CAkewalk guys are so fast.Imo they could make and update like Steinberg but not a a whole new version

Cakewalk actually get on and get done, unlike Steinberg who take 10 years to give people rearrangeable inserts...

sonar 7 has some awesome enchacements to workflow. New miditools offers very customized piano roll editing and it has been improved a much! Also new drum step sequencer and and.

I would really say that the new features are really worth of the price!

I think its now finally a time to ditch cubase?

I have tried Sonar briefly, and I found the Piano roll hard to work with.

Talking features vs. price, Sonar totally rapes Cubase. You get so many better plugins and features which just aren't in Cubase. The producer edition even comes with an Autotune/Melodyne style thing (V-Vocal)! All editions come with z3ta+ (which costs $99 on its own), a great drum sampler (session drummer 2), etc.

I felt same when trying previous versions. But 7 has much much improved piano roll editing, you should try it again!

Haha, they get on and get stuff done indeed:p What we mean to say is that they know how to make people keep forking over the money, while not really investing any themselves! Is there really anything that great in this new release? I would really like to see some innnovating in the DAW market...

I found sonar too hard to use personally, it felt a bit amateurish having that many menus, and I couldn't get it to play nice with my soundcards! If I wanted to switch from one to the other I had to restart the whole program:wtf:
