I was wondering if anyone here has had good or bad experiences with these sample CDs. I've been tempted to try one lately as they seem to be relatively inexpensive and I've heard some good things about them. Some were supposedly used in the soundtrack for 'Gladiator'.

Heart of Africa, Bizarre Guitars are just awesome, if you buy them, get the Sampler versions, Wav versions are useless.
I heard Heart of Asia, was not very good actually, few instruments, and too much loops, I dont suggest this one.
The bass CD's are good, but I like much more Larry Seyer library.

Kopi =o.

On that note, I need a sampler. I have no clue where to start.
Is there some global sample format that most samplers can use?
Or does each major sampler have its own format?

I was thinking symphony of voices + hans zimmer guitars

Bizzare guitars looks pretty cool too, but I just can't see myself using them all that often.

Forgot to add symphony of voices, prolly the best from spectrasonics library.
