What i want to do
I want to run a channel from Ableton through the sound card to a channel on the Xone 92, then, using the send on the mixer, send that audio back through the sound card to Ableton. In Ableton, a channel will be setup to receive that signal, apply some effects, then send the music back through the external sound card to the xone 92's returns.
Question
I'm sure a bunch of people must have tried this, I'm just wondering what sort of latency I'm going to be incurring here? I used to have a Xone 3D, and i tried it with that, and the delay was too much, but that may be because the internal sound card is a piece of crap. The Echo AudioFire 8 seems like a high end sound card, but i can't find information on the latency of the card.
If anyone has been able to set this sort of effect loop up with latency that is acceptable (not noticeable) can you also please post the gear you're using and how you have it set up. |
