arc in the sky - vainquer (7am at heavens gate mix)
i ing love that tune, never get tired of it. it perfectly epitomizes my favourite type of trance, which i wish there was more of.. tough, driving, dark & atmospheric with a hypnotic yet powerful main lead.. and no big chord changes. i still play it in sets loads, & more often than not mix it with octagen vs arizona - profound ;)
i liked some of his uplifting stuff from 2005 too. especially halcyon :D |

Y68 is by Woody van Eyden, not Alex Morph ;)

But alot of the alex morphs productions are produced by Alex morph Henry Nix and Matthias Gierth.

it uses the same sweeping pad sample (which i think is just a synth preset), but besides that i never noticed any similarities? |

What makes you think it's a preset? It's a three note refrain, not just a sound effect. Either way, if it is a preset it's like the Xpander preset or the Sandstorm one- you can't use them anymore because they've been made so iconic by one track's use.
Aside from that, the percussion in the breakdown also reminded me of Sacred Circles, and the vocal sample was reminiscent of the Ghandi one Lazonby used. |

i can't be sure, but i've heard other presets that sound like a sequence of notes before.. as an example, the title music from 'lost' is actually just a one-note synth preset (or possibly two) which i discovered whilst playing around with spectrasonics' atmosphere..
still. whether it was intentionally copied or not, the tracks overall style makes it stand clearly seperate from sacred cycles as far as i'm concerned.. and i'd hardly class sacred cycles in the same league as xpander or sandstorm. infact it's plausible that morph may not have even known it.. |

Why the am I calling it "Circles"? D'oh!
Granted it's not as well known as those two, but it's still an old-school trance classic and has had plenty of update remixes/rapes. |
