Cubase 4 users: Prologue LFO Sync to MIDI Clock?

I have searched and never found the answer to this question:

When referring to the Sync Mode in the included VSTi's such as prologue, the C4 manual states:

MIDI - In this mode the LFO rate is synced in various beat increments to MIDI clock.

However, speed rate displayed below the LFO waveform still shows a decimal value.

The manual says about this:

Speed This governs the rate of the LFO. If MIDI Sync is activated
(see below), the available rate values are selectable as
note values, e.g. beat increments of the sequencer tempo
in Cubase.

So by reading those two statements, I would assume that the rate value displayed should be a beat increment (1/4, 1/1, etc.) instead of a decimal value.

Is this a bug? How are we to sync the LFO to MIDI clock?

Yea it's irritating as Eric.

I noticed the same thing. I just have to do it by ear. If you listen carefully, as you slide the rate slider up and down, you can hear the LFO change sync with the clock. So if you want your LFO to be 4th notes, you'll have to just listen for it.

Pretty ing lame if you ask me, but oh well. How do you like Prolouge btw Eric? It's got some pretty nifty sounds for being bundled into a DAW.

OK, good I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees this as a problem. I'm hoping the 4.1 update, which looks rather tasty, fixes this problem. In the meantime, I've just done it be ear like you said. I tried to set the speed value in milliseconds, but that seems to be slightly off as well, so I'm just hoping it gets fixed with the update.

However, I am absolutely in love with Prologue. I've only been on C4 for a couple of months, but it has become my go-to synth. I even turn to it before I turn to some of my third party VSTi's. My only complaint, besides the LFO thing, is that it can be a bit CPU heavy, but that is easily fixed by freezing.

One of the greatest things about Prologue, as well as the other new plugins, is that I finally feel like the bundled VST's with Cubase are getting to be up-to-par with Logic's included set of plugins. Granted, RoomWorks is no Logic Space Designer, but it's pretty good in its own right. I really feel that Prologue can compete head-to-head with Logic alternatives such as ES1 & ES2. I'm sure some Logic users will heartily disagree with me on this, but I think that Steinberg did a really good job in recognizing Logic's superiority in this area and doing something to close the gap. I have gotten some fantastic and usable aounds out of Mystic and Spector as well, and I haven't really even spent that much time with them yet. I'm looking forward to spending more time with those on my next few tracks.

Its a good thing, too, because I was real close to ditching my PC/Cubase setup and shelling out $5,000 for a new Mac Pro and Logic Pro. Upgrading to C4 was well worth the money, and with the new features in the 4.1 updated, I think that C4 is a great choice for PC based studios.
