Review - Carl Cox at The Boom Boom Room

What can i say, with everything going on last night in toronto and everywhere else i dont think this event got the attention it deserved..... alas it is Windsor. The night started off great on my end, we finally sold out 600 tix. The actuall capacity is 750 but we dont like to ram it like that, it already gets too nuts on that dancefloor as it is.
Carl came on at 12:15, was unbeleievabley amazing for 4 solid solid hours. Ive had this place for 2 years now and i have never never never seen somebody systematicly tear the living out of every single soul in the room.... every one. Great work on the mic too. Windsor got it's first taste of techno in a long long time and they ate it up.
We have a belt in the office that goes to the champ (its an old wwf belt but we have made some alerations...
There is a NEW CHAMP at the BBR and his name is Carl Cox.
Thank you Carl for Putting so many smiles on so many faces, its such a fresh market out here that people complain about having to buy a ticket yet alone pay a cover. Everyone said it was well worth the price last night.
Sorry to everyone for rushing him out of the club like that but saftey first, the place was jammed and the energy was off the hook at the end, he would still be there. He did thank everyone at the end on the mic several times which was class.
Tears in peoples eyes at the end... really.

WOW What a night! Remo this is the best booking to date.
Solid night of tunes. Cox came on a little after 12 and of the bat started tearing up the dance floor. 4 solid hours of techno. He played really hard most of the night, which was exactly what I was looking for. Everyone in the club was feeling the beats and it was a great atmosphere and Cox seamed to really enjoy it as well.
Danced my ass off for the entire night... my whole body is aching today.
Overall 9/10. Great night Remo! |

I understand that you are the owner of the BBR. Next time you have an amazing DJ like Carl Cox or some other big headliners please ask their permission to record the sets in advance. If they say "YES", we the fans get a treat and your club gets a promotion boost. It's a win-win situation for you!
Your club for awhile has booked some amazing talent lately and not once have I ever found a recording from some of the international headliners you've brought in.
Just a suggestion for the future...;) |

Hahaha, if I knew Charles Khabouth was an active TA poster like revival I would definitely leave him an identical memo. Don't believe I've ever seen Charles K start his own roll calls, like how revival has in the past for several of his events. LOL
As for recorded sets from the GUV/Kool Haus there are a few floating out there. The whole list of Toronto recorded sets are in a thread started by PurpleHaze. Do a search and you'll find these sets in that thread. Off the top of my head, I personally have Menno, Blank and Jones, Sasha, Yoji and Underworld all from the GUV/Kool Haus complex.
Thanks for your concern, but gotta get ready for King Carl tonight!;)
