Kind of disappointed with myself for not knowing about this gig until last wednesday. The fact that Armin also played in Seoul, Korea the next evening bummed me out because I have a scheduled trip to Korea next week and I could have move it sooner and used my free plane voucher to go to Manila to catch both shows. The ironic thing is that I haven't seen Armin this year here in the US because the last two times he played here in San Francisco, I was in Asia  . Anyway, I will definately catch him here in San Franciso at the end of this month.

Btw, the EDM scene in Manila is small but continues to grow. Unfortunately there's only two (Embassy and Warehouse) known clubs that show case EDM talent. But the promoter BigFish Manila is doing a fine job helping the EDM scene grow. They've brough int'l talent like Tiesto, Yoji, and a like to Manila.

let's talk more. Nah, it's getting big since 3 years ago. They have more than embassy and wrehouse. Promoters are bigfihmanila, drivenmanila, calypso events (ferry corsten) and many more. You should had seen him. I saw him in L.a. for Giants. Going to scottsdale for him. Anyways, cge pare. Message me at myspace.

i don't think it just started 3 years ago. we've had ferry corsten, deep dish, sasha & digweed, judge jules, PVD and others even before the year 2000 hit. we even brought in ministry of sound, slinky, godskitchen, hed kandi and other big groups since then.

i can firmly say that the Philippines and other Asian countries are more ahead in terms of music since we get our edm influence directly from Europe.

and getting tiesto or armin to play at an event doesn't necessarily mean that the scene is getting bigger.

Bro I'm probably the only one here that's not on MySPace. I'm old Skool. Lol! But I will be in touch. Let me know if any of you are going to SF, we'll take you out and hang out.

I was in the Philippines last August. Spent about a month there. Didn't really party too much. Me and my girl pretty much just kicked it in the islands. Went to Palawan, Boracay and Bohol. As you know Boracay has a great night life. There were a couple of bars playing decent EDM. Just like gerard6975 mentioned there is a great direct influence from europe specially in the resort island where most europeans flock.

In Manila/Makati I was able to check out the new Warehouse @ Yakal when DrivenManila had DJ Rap play on a Saturday night. Decent club, I like the location being in the heart of Makati. Didn't go to Embassy that time because I really wanted to take a break from partying while I was there.

I go back at least once a year, sometimes twice. It's nice to see that the EDM scene if growing back home. I've been telling everyone that once the EMD explodes in the Phil, a lot of great DJ/Producers will emerge due to the vast pool of young musicians in the country. Just like the current Live Band scene, great talent will emerge. I can just see them play live with all the Midi's and EFX not just spin vinyls and CDs.

FYI that INCOGNITO believes in diversity and focuses more on the music, regardless of where the DJ comes from...as such, we have flown in a few famous EDM DJ's already from Asia, including Manila...

We've gotten Mon Maramba (Euphoria/Wherelese/Peligro/Trip M), Josh Evangelista (Venezia/Giraffe), GP Reyes (Sleepless@Embassy), Mike Bolante (Rotation NY) and DJ Iann (Apogee/Hollywood Canteen)...

This Oct 19, we will have GT and Project C (opening for Kristina Sky and Randy Boyer of Enmass) who are from OC, but whose roots are from Vietnam.

Cheers!
