Windmill Sessions 10 October

Latest mix time from the Windmill Sessions series! I love smooth, deep, emotionally-involving music and I hope these mixes capture the sound that I am so passionate about. Its all about the beautiful music.:)

Matthew Adams-Guitarboredom
Nosak-Delight
Mango-She Was Here
Jiva-Follow Me
Musetta-Peace and Melody (dream traveler remix)
Lokitas-Magenta (mango remix)
Johan Vermuelen-Luxury
Embliss-Kaleido (mango's tokyo monorail remix)
Silence 'O' Phobia-Chupakabras (dynamic illusion remix)
Fractal-Fightmagicitem
Josel-Digiboy (matthew adams remix)
Keenan and Anderson-Devolution (josel remix)
Sonorous-Last Sunday (sonorous' unimatrix zero dub)
Lustral-Everytime (funkagenda's 909 strings and tings vox mix)

Matthew Adams-Guitarboredom
A lovely, chilled guitar-led intro track by the incredibly talented (and young!) Matthew Adams.
Nosak-Delight
Atmospheric and melodic electronica from a new producer to start. Its deep, serene and a great way to set the scene and mood for the future tracks.
Mango-She Was Here
The phenomenal talent of Mango continues to deliver lush, melodic progressive with an unusual depth and richness to the sound. This track is no exception and retains the chilled sound of the previous track.
Jiva-Follow Me
I'm a big fan of Sultan and Ned Shepard's collaborations under the 'Jiva' guise. This track is an exercie in simple melodies with a clean, soothing backing. All very nicely under-stated early set material.
Musetta-Peace and Melody (dream traveler remix)
The mix shifts up a gear with this wonderful vocal gem. I'm not usually a fan of vocals, but when they are done well (as they are in this case) they can really enhance the emotional involvement you feel in regards to the track. Excellent remix by the legend that is 'Dream Traveler'.
Lokitas-Magenta (mango remix)
Mango puts his trademark melodic stamp on the already brilliant original. The eastern European's are leading the way for quality, melodic progressive and show no sign of stopping!
Johan Vermuelen-Luxury
An increase in pace next with solid, chunky progressive with tight production and melodic feel.
Embliss-Kaleido (mango's tokyo monorail remix)
Bouncy melodics with a large feel in this track. The original is great too but Mango's remix just shaded it for me predictably:).
Silence 'O' Phobia-Chupakabras (dynamic illusion remix)
An epic sounding progressive track full of sweet, blissful washes and lush stabs. A great example of a deep, melodic track.
Fractal-Fightmagicitem
An extremely experimental and highly original electronic track. Confusing beat structure and rhythm with clashes of sounds and styles, but when it all comes together it sounds huge and simply wonderful.
Josel-Digiboy (matthew adams remix)
Matthew Adams can do no wrong, he has transformed this into something of a melodic anthem. You can float away with ease along the back of the cascading melodies in this one!
Keenan and Anderson-Devolution (josel remix)
The mix begins the final sprint with this deep, progressive-trance number. Its laden with atmosphere and is a great transition track.
Sonorous-Last Sunday (sonorous' unimatrix zero dub)
Peaktime progressive-trance from Sonorous. Initially dark and expectant in tone it explodes into life in a shimmering haze of melodies during the latter half. Uplifting magic!
Lustral-Everytime (funkagenda's 909 strings and tings vox mix)
A true classic is given an intelligent and altogether beautiful re-rub. Its a building gem, complete with some breath-taking string work and chanting vocals.

Hope you can listen and let us know your opinions! Thanks people.

Another massive set with nothing but quality. I love the opening...it really sets the mood and leaves me anticipating the rest of the mix. The first 3/4 of this mix are best summed up as follows: atmospheric and dreamy. Unlike previous sets which combined a bit of melancholy and cheer, this one (for me, at least) is very warm, dreamy, and atmospheric. There aren't as many peaks and valleys that alernate between light and dark in this set. That's not a complaint, either, just an observation. I think it's a very effective and uplifting set. Reminds me a lot of experiencing the sunrise of what you KNOW will turn out to be a beautiful day.

Then mix really takes off with Keenan and Anderson-Devolution (josel remix)! Now we're at peak time, and it's hard to sit still. Sonorous-Last Sunday (sonorous' unimatrix zero dub) is the tune of the mix for me. Simply a beautiful tune. And that remix of Lustral - Everytime is a brilliant closer.

Zero complaints for this mix. :eyespop:

Thanks as always buddy! Apologies that it took a bit longer than usual to get online, football and Uni commitments took their toll. Plus I wanted it to be as good as possible. Thanks for the feedback!

Seriously son....amazing review! Love hearing feedback like that, great stuff.
This set seemed to meld together quite well yeah, it floats along before exploding near the end, so I agree with your summary! "Last Sunday" does it for me too:) And the Funkagenda mix of Lustral is fast becoming an absolute favourite, brilliant, brilliant work!
Thanks for the review Zoso, it makes doing these mixes an absolute pleasure knowing that others gain the same enjoyment as I do from the music. Cheeeeeeeeeers!!

Absolutely. The music is what it's all about. The fact that such talented producers exist simply amazes me. When you combine that talent with the DJs who select and mix those amazing tunes, you take things to the next level! It takes two to tango, as they say. I just finished a set on the turntables, and man am I stoked! Mixing has to be the best hobby ever. :D
