A recording from the greatest night of my life. I was so nervous I puked 3 times before getting on. I think the night went really well. The place stayed full and people danced. Instead of playing 4 hours I actually did more as the headliner could not make it. 2 Parts for now, I will post the rest if anyone shows interest or wants it. (Posting sets is alot of work while travelling and if no one cares for these why bother:p) Would love to hear your thoughts. Shout outs: Nacht aka Steve MOFOliti for being a good "manager" and posting this stuff, Lars Wickinger for helping me get this gig and helping me come full circle with the music selection aspect, Mathias Huss the light guy for helping me with the running tracklist and making my life easier (only label info needed updating), and everyone who came out to help me live a dream and have one of the best experiences in my 28 years. Germany is so progressive and innovative in terms of what music they accept and I don't think I ever wanna go home. Greg...Montreal isn't the best anymore:p

Pt 1
A deeper and slower to this set.. Its just warming up the place being a tad experimental and toying with sounds that albeit not dancefloor destroyers strike me as audio bliss. Almost an hour in the dancefloor started to fill nicely and i started to get a little harder. Expect: Tech House, Minimal, even some Deep House and Electro. This part of the set is probably the one that would appeal to fans of trance due to alot of dreamy elements in it. I was very nervous for the first 30 mins, but i think it went rather well.

Pt 2
Getting a bit faster and starting to feel in my element. Everything from Minimal to Techno..funky bleepy, its hard to explain as i really didn't want to play the same way for too long.I'm not used to extended sets and was scared of burning people out or becoming monotonous. I hope i succeeded.. The fun really started going up and up after dropping Boratto's new Speicher release. Its the first good one in that series in awhile and the people really seemed to enjoy that track.

Thanks to all of you who take the time to listen. Any feedback would be very appreciated, and as I stated before if there is any interest in the other roughly 3+ hours of the set not posted, i will get it up sometime this week (If no one cares i will just crawl in my hole and die :p:p). There is no editing other than slight fades between sets and i cut out a couple minutes between these 2 because it just sounded too weird to start up a set mid transition. I don't think i red lined too much and it looked good in sound forge, but if there are any problems with the recording please let me know. I could only chop it up with the benefit of laptop speakers.
Cheers
J aka ANF the man who saw Jesus in the speakers.
(ps for those of you on my facebook, there is video of this night and as soon as i figure out how to ing edit/upload/quit reeking of being a vid n00b i will put them up) |

I'll have to say part one was pretty nice. Mixing was good, tracks were really great (actually could have gone a little slower to my taste but Wtv). Part 2 was not my cup of tea tho :(
Sorry |

This is better than I expected.
I cringed when I saw the word 'minimal' but this set wasn't boring at all. Lots going on in the set that kept my attention, though there were parts that lost me slightly esp. during part 2. Good programming. Technically I didn't notice any major faults.
Good stuff :) |
