Still Finance (Risk Management). And no this isn't the position in Bahrain. I was going to take that position until I found out that its health plan didn't cover a medication that I was on. So I just found something better in new york :) |
what kind of risk management are you looking to get into? i would imagine with finance it would probably be similar to pension or wealth management type things.
i interviewed with a couple companies (public accounting type companies) about doing technology risk services, IT risk management, etc. (it's all the same thing just different job titles). i really want to get into forensic accounting but it's really competitive. |

from that list I'd vote SA and namibia. done many trips to Capetown for work, one of the best cities inthe world. Moutains, beaches, shark diviung, vineyards, great pub and music scene, garden route.
Namibia on an overland tour was incredible, sparely populated, often desolate, and spectacular. |

I've been doing operational risk management (related to the advanced measurement approach of the Basel 2 capital accords) for several years now. Historically only the largest banks in the US have been required to implement basel 2, but a lot of investment banks and smaller banks have been implementing portions of basel 2 because it's best practices in risk management. |

Thanks! I think I might end up posting less though :(. I'm going to have to bust my butt the first couple months just to get a lay of the land. Plus I can't cut into my masturbatory time ... |

| I would go to Argentina, see patagonia and if you have enough $$$, charter a boat and visit the south pole. It probably sounds odd, but from the pics I've seen, it's a beautiful place that was not disturbed by humans. And, unlike north pole, it is not completely covered with ice (yes, I do know that the north pole is basically a sheet of ice). |

sounds interesting. I'm a finance major and will be graduating next year. I'm looking more into auditing, but this sounds like something I'd do. |

| A <--- Oh when you go hit me up man, I want to hike from Texas to the Andes mountains. It'll be one hell of a trip getting through all that. Also I know a geological place we may stop where the south american and north american contential plates meet each other. There we will procure ourselfs some of the finest jade in all the world. As we hike onward surviving off the land, we will craft neclaces out of the jade that we procured. Sell/trade the rest, oh and hope no one kills us once we reach Columbia. Yeah hit me up if you plan on going :) |
