is it possible to have a dj set on the ipod, broken down by track, but still play seemlessly?

I believe that it plays the tracks seemlessly, ie. no time delay between tracks.

You just need to get a .cue file or make one to breakup the tracks before storing it on the iPod.

i'm a bit confused on this. So i could load a .cue file into the ipod with the mp3 file, and it would automatically seperate it?

edit: nm...figured out what you meant.

Here's a good site.

You can find lots of .cues like ASOT and stuff like htat.

They also have a .cue maker to make your own cue files.

There are a few programs good programs out there that will sepearte the files for you, but can't recall right now.

Medieval cue splitter v1.0

downloaded it a couple days ago to split some albums that i ripped as one long mp3, worked quite well.

It's the same for iPods as it is for any other MP3 player - if you start with one large MP3 and cut the MP3 itself without ever re-encoding, you can usually get gapless playback. The only thing to keep in mind is that the individual tracks are technically invalid MP3 files... often the players don't care but sometimes they do.

If you or the original encoder started with a bunch of wave files (i.e. ripped from a CD) and encoded each one as its own MP3, then I'm sorry to say, you have no chance of ever getting perfectly seamless playback. You can get close if you manually splice the stuff, but the MP3 encoding makes subtle changes to the sound, so the pieces won't fit back together perfectly.
