How do you create this effect?

Hi guys, could any of you point me in the right direct on how to do this. I have a few ideas which I tried but didnt work.
Its the main synth that speeds up and slows down. Link below, thanks.

ableton's beat repeat or dblue glitch's retrigger feature :)

| Beat repeat sounds about right. Its the main synth in that sample you get the same effect when you use CDj's and spin the wheel backwards on a loop. |

I believe it's a sequencing issue...
Sounds like the rapid flow is every 1/32 while the calmer stabs are 1/16?
See if you can zoom in to your sequencer and lay them out one after the other, mess around... |

| Could also be a sampler with the loop size automated. That seems like the most realistic approach in my opinion. |

| Oh man.. This is not an special effect.. Don't be afraid to use your sequencer and try resolution 1/32 ;) |

| As said before, just get the Midi right, 1/32 or even 1/64 will give you that sound in the beginning. |
