Oi, oi,
People complained to me about a problem, and I decided to ask others about it. Whenever possible, I'm going to ask everyone about their opinion on a given issue, because I think I can be a fair mod that way. I'm not here to exercise any sort of authority. The PDD is a place where I think I can have mature discussions with the users, and I hope I'm not wrong.

True, I don't have to. But, like I said, I don't want to take any measures just because I (don't) think something is right. I want to debate, to gather new ideas, and all that.

I agree with Josh's conclusion if not his way of articulating it.
Sometimes an article can stand for itself; simply summarizing it is hardly "giving a thesis" or whatever that means. If I post an article, I'm looking to generate a reaction to the article based on others' interpretations of it, not a reaction to my own personal interpretation of it. |

Not gonna lie, amidst all the fluff he posted in here, he does have a point. This forum is extraordinarily anti-establishment and radicalized, with the promotion of fringe conspiracy theories and outside-the-mainstream political ideologies. And though this is an international forum, US-based discussions are the only ones generating any responses, and those truly international issues that do get posted always reverts to some neo-con/communist bashfest. PDD could be a lot better than it is if people were more open to other opinions (including the opinions of LatinLover, however disagreeable you may find them).
Chasing away a contributor, no matter who that person is and how he/she contributes is no victory in my mind.
