| Don't ever put your carts on the platter! :) |

| not quite as bad as accidently dropping the needle on the bumps meant for the stroboscope while platter spins |

| Xquisite |
usually the snap crackle pop sounds are because your needles got fuzz on them. Use a brush and gently brush them away.
the other possible reason could be your audio wires are loose to your amp.
i used to use craze carts (SK502) and i/friends dropped them accidentally a lot everywhere and they still work fine heh. but then again the platter wasnt moving :) |

| Another advantage of Ortofons, if you ever drop the cart on the strobe dots while the platter is spinning, it won't touch the needle, just the plastic casing :D |

Not quite true, I've dropped my Ortofons on the strobe dots quite a few times! I can't see it happening with Stantons though, the cartridge around the needle is too big for the needle itself to actually touch the strobe dots.
All that snap crackle and pop is probably just record noise, there's not really a lot you can do about it. You can minimize it by cleaning your records and your styli regularly, but you'll never get rid of it completley. It's just one of those features of vinyl :) |
