| I just picked up the first generation KRK V6. So far Im really digging them. From all the reviews Ive been reading, others seem to agree. |

I bought a pair of Alesis M1Active 620 MKIIs for my production setup - extremely clean sound and they're not overly pricey.
I went over the border to buy them and talked the price down a little, it ended up being well worth it (buying audio equipment here for the mostpart is a crappy idea, much more expensive). You might be told that you void the warranty if you buy from the States as opposed to here, but really if something happens to your speakers it'll likely be the tweeter getting blown - in which case your warranty won't do anything anyways. |

i use these and love them...
but, im thinking of getting KRK Monitors around christmas time, maybe even march.
as for the person who suggested the KRK RP8's i think it depends on the environment they are in, ive heard they sound muddy if the environment is not appropriate, i.e. too small, no sound proofing.
but regardless KRK's in general are very good, if you chose the RP5, 6, or 8, you wouldnt be making a wrong choice, but if they dont sound hot, try another size. |

i just use computer speakers.... logitech like z5300 i think they are called.... anyways, 5 speaks and one giant sub (i have to put a towel in the 'bass hole' thing cuz its so powerful), anyways if you on a budget they work pretty well, you can get them for like 180 i think..... loud, lots of bass, good sound (IMO), havent really used anything else to compare though
if you looking for proper speakers though i have no idea cuz everytime i see them they are way out of my price range! |
5.1 speaker systems, and 2.1 systems won't work for DJ systems.....Mainly because having separate speakers results in a delay when the sound signals reach your ear.
Putting the sub and high's right next to your ear probably won't help either because the sub is usually in some sort of bandpass enclosure.
Here's a solid tip for buying speakers.....Don't get them from the guy that sells them out the back of his van! |

Mackie studio monitors are amazing - probably the best out there for DJ application (however the are expensive). |
