What I wanna know, kind of related to Bedrock, is where in the world did Yunus Guvenen go. Granted I haven't been a fan of his stuff released under the Red Flag Collective, pretty much everything he has ever released on Bedrock is some of the best progressive house ever made. From Opus 34 to Mass Schizophrenia to Let Go, Bedrock needs to commission him for a couple tracks to celebrate their releasing of prog choons again....
(wakes up from dream)
damnit, another minimal release..... |

Actually Yunus is just on the verge of a return and Digweed has most likely been playing a few of Yunus' new tracks already
Pretty sure [B-O-F-H] can tell you some more about that ;) |

Let me guess: in his forthcoming work, Yunus has been experimenting with new "electro" and "minimal" sounds? :p |

| their are several releases from bedrock out. not too much progressive but a lot of techno, minimal and such. why do people hate minimal so much |

| I agree with what everyone is saying but havent they're been some quality tunes this year under the "tech-house / electro / minimal" genre. DJs like Digweed, Sasha, Satoshi Tomiie, etc wouldn't be playing it if it wasnt good. |

yeah some of the stuff digweed is playing, mainly towards the peak of his sets, is slightly leaning towards more proggy stuff. still far too much minimal and electro around nowadays for my liking. i think producers and DJs should stop jumping on bandwagons and get a style of their own. but until they start doing that, im afraid there will be a lot more minimal and electro tracks being released than progressive ones. i think James Holden's view on the scene is relevant here when he says that if you have produced a record that sounds like something else and has nothing new to bring to the scene, then dont ing release it. |
How on earth do you gauge that? |

exactly. it's kinda stupid to dislike an entire genre. i don't like pop or country but i'm sure their are a few tracks that i enjoy. i don't know, i use to think the same way and i tried to have an open mind about it and when i did that i discovered a genre that has a lot of beautiful banging tracks. |

Unfortunately this is Trance Addict, so no matter what the topic of a thread is, there will be countless posts that read something like
| quote: |
"God, I'm so sick of _____. Why don't they make ______ anymore? All this new _______ is so boring and bland. Why can't they just make Heaven Scent and Xpander again?" |
But in good news, you can rest assured knowing people who make those kinds of posts can be written off as completely inconsequential, and it saves you reading 5-10 words in a given thread.
