Looking for some help here.
After 3 years of growing my hair I am going to cut it off this Christmas. I am looking for a NICE place to get my hair cut. I want to go all out since I have been getting $20 trims for the last 3 years and want to pamper myself this one time.
Price is not an issue.

I worked at Rita Hazan on 5th avenue when i first moved here.
It's pricey. I got my highlights done and then i quit haha.
Juan Carlos looks like he did the best hair cuts there or maybe some other little spanish dude.... i might have their bios and stuff at home.. gotta check after work! |

If you go to ritahazansalon.com and hit About --> staff profiles --> Click the right arrow.
The first 3 are colorist. [adrian did my highlights better than any place i've ever been to!!]
the next 3 are stylist.
Juan Carlos picture is not there but I liked his style of hair cuts.
Eugene in the middle is a real cool guy.
The 2 other ppl Haru and someone else charge about 150 if I recall. Juan Carlos was 185 and I think Eugene was 175.
Nelson is on the next page of bio's but he's like 300$.
It;s a very good salon. Upscale and $$$. She is Jessica Simpson colorist. She is famous for turning Britney's hair dark brown that very first time. Shes been on Oprah. Rita is a colorist but you can trust her stylists. I don't think I ever saw someone walk out disappointed.
They mentioned her name on the first episode of that Hair show on Bravo. Forgot what it's called. |

Mere: I sometimes go to Dop Dop. If you want your hair colored along with the cut, go there, and ask for Jo. She's the owner, and she's totally cool, AND she's a master colorist. Seriously, L'Oreal pays her $1800 a day to go teach hair color at salons all over the world. Great hairdresser too. Very relaxed rock and roll attitude too, there's nothing snooty about her.
Oooh, AND, she was the hairdresser on the first episode of Queer Eye For The Straight Guy.

I have had great luck with my new hairdressers (after I dumped the guy who gave me the hideous hair cut!!!) :whip:
My new salon in Robert Stuart....Its a great place and you can choose between different levels of stylists for different price (ie: the master stylist is higher than the regular, and the owner is top price, etc) My stylist is Baiba and she will do whatever you ask and is good at it. Prices are not bad either: she is a master and I got my hair done for $60 (cut/style)
Also, you might wanna try bumble and bumble: they serve you hot tea or champagne, you sit in comfy chairs, you do a consultation, they take into consideration your face structure, body type, skin tone, etc etc......and they have decent prices for the pampering because the stylists are learning ( but REALLY good...they are better than most stylists. I know Kel goes there a lot and I have been there as well). #1 place in the city imo. |
