congrats all who entered. and well done to eldritch.
grabbed the the first and second winners..
1st (eldritch): nice production here. nice choice of kick and bpm. all synths go well together. the the intro takes a little long with not enough variation for me. break is amazing! main lead does not match the quality of chicanes original but works well. i like the whole thing.
2nd(350fq): hehe. dirty from the start! love this sounds very cool. strange yet it works well. the mix sounds more pro on this one but arrangement lets it down a bit..
i like the way the subtle melodies are being introduced. the strings are nice. and i like the distorsion that is being brought in. arrangement is not quite there for me - maybe is a bit here and there. i missed the theme of chicanes original in this and would have liked to hear the melody in there somewhere... |

reviewing: 'terry barker rmx'
nice mix. very clear. only one issue really and this is the bass and kick are interfering with eachother. an un noticeable sidechain would make the mix so much better imo.. melodies and arrangement are fantastic. voice synth is moving me:) emotional to say the least. the track is making me beg for the breakdown so bad!
here it is..break: slowly warms down the mix... main lead is lovely. im wanting more of a harsh sound, maybe a dist on it and some more midhighs, tho it sounds lovely in the mix maybe a little more vol on it? unsure. bass is throbbing. building... nice.
damn man. get that sidechaining done and this will fly. great work and nice to see you staying true to the original while modernising.

001. Chicane - Halcyon (Eldritch Remix)
insanely good, but i really dont like the kick sample -
its also abit hard compared to the rest of the song.. just me though
layout is impeccable, if anything
instruments beyond me :)
commendably euphoric
strings are abit anonymous but still nice
gating is very nicely done
percussion isnt bad, but not good either
bottom line - you can give yourself a clap on the back, twice :)
start selling off your music |
