Okay, so I'll take a stab at a review.
Around 6 o'clock I was extremely depressed, as Eric's management had emailed me saying that an interview WOULD go down, but hadn't given me any times or dates for over a week. The gig was only a few hours away, and I was prepared to just say screw it, when suddenly, my phone buzzed.
It was Michael Sershall (Eric's artist manager), and he gave me Réne's (Eric's tour manager) number. I could not contain myself. I ran into my roommates room saying DO YOU WANT TO GO SEE ERIC ING PRYDZ?!!! He was playing Call of Duty 4 at the time, and was slightly offended because he is ID-less and 19. I just smiled, and told him the good news. He freaked out, and I decided it was time to call Réne.
Réne had no clue who I was, and had only at that moment heard of an interview. Nonetheless, I mentioned Michael, and he was pleased. He guestlisted me, my roommate, and my best friend. Tonight was already seeming epic!
We arrived exactly at 10pm, awaiting entry. Once the doors opened, I went up and said "I'm on Eric's list, Sam Reaves." The door girl handed us all VIP bracelets and took my backpack for me. After giving my friends a tour of WetBar, I noticed I had a text from Réne saying he was in the booth, so I went there and chatted with him for a while. He's a sound guy, as well was Dana Bergqvist who was spinning at the time.
I took this time to dance, chill with the TAs who of course show up nearly at opening time as usual. Great to see all of you guys again! Dana was playing sort of Eric style, but very very chilled out, so perfect for his 2 1/2 hour warmup.
Around 11pm, I got my backpack from the doorgirl, and Réne and I went upstairs to Skybar, which had been specially closed off for us to interview Eric. I made myself comfortable on a couch, and got out my Macbook + microphone. After what seemed like forever, Eric showed up. I introduced myself, to which he replied with a smile, "Sweet mate, you wanna' beer?" I was instantly relaxed. Even funnier he opened them with something off of his belt, which sent the lids flying behind the counter hitting several different things. (lol!) We all laughed for a bit and just chilled out talking about random things. After about ten minutes of talking, I realized we had an interview to attend to, and his set was very soon.
I began, and he gave ridiculously good answers. I never expected him to get that into it, but as you can tell from the interview in the MD, it was TWENTY SIX MINUTES LONG! He probably would've answered more had I had more questions...
Afterwards, I thanked him, and we chatted more. I was recording the interview with Ableton Live, and he told me "I never really quite got that program" and laughed. I spent about ten minutes telling him how amazing it was, this and that. He was impressed, but laughed and stated "Yeah I'm sticking to Logic! hahahaha"
About ten minutes later he decided to go on, so we walked down through the crowd into the DJ booth. He invited me in, and I stayed. Dana came off and started chatting with me, asking me all the time "WHY ARE YOU NOT DRINKING?!" (lol) So he gave me a steady flow of Heinekens as well as having a steady flow of Grey Goose himself.
Eric put on the set of the century. It was filled with new tracks and mashups he'd done, including the demo temporarily entitled "Miami Atlanta", as he had made it literally hours before on the way up to Atlanta from Miami. Towards the end he played an AMAZING bootleg of Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams and Pryda - Genesis, which Martin (a friend of Eric's in the booth) told me was justly titled Pryda - Sweet Genesis. Just before the Sweet Dreams vocals kicked in though, I heard the surprise of my life... Nina Simone - Feelin' Good!!! I mean wtf?! (It is a song made popular by MICHAEL BUBLE!) Then, after Sweet Genesis came a new edit of Muranyi, which definitely pwned. The music went off, then he played his edit of T99 - Anasthasia. I was floored. I had completely expected tons of tracks that I'd known about for months, being the Mafia Forum admin and all, but I was pleasantly surprised every second of the show.
After it was all over, I bade farewell to Eric, Réne, Martin, and Dana... thanked them for such a wonderful night, and wished them well on the tour. They were all such sound guys, and I can't stress that enough! I hope to see them back here again soon! I had not spent any money all night, except for my $25 ticket (which its only purpose was to get signed) and had the absolute greatest night of my life.
Thank you Eric, Réne, Dana, and Michael for making it possible. Thank you to everyone at the Swedish House Mafia forum (and those who helped create it way back in the SHM Archive days). Thank you David and Brandon for coming with me, and experiencing such magic as your first real clubbing experience. Thank you WetBar staff for being so genial and helping out all night. Thank you Devin and Liquified for putting on this show, and thank you to all the TAs that came out. I'm glad you had a good time. :)

That previous review is a tough act to follow. ;) This was certainly my favorite performance this year by far. After seeing Carl Cox and Eric Prydz within a short timespan, I have a good basis for comparison between the two venues and am fully convinced that WetBar is a far better venue. The sound was beyond fantastic (it needs to be at least twice as loud over at Opera). I like the more underground, intimate climate at WetBar too. It was a very mixed crowd, which always makes it fun. I was a little surprised that the place wasn't more crowded for this event, but it was nice to be able to move around.

From the way he said he enjoyed the tour so far, I think he may be back really soon. :) I just hope Devin will be down for it again.
That Miami Atlanta is INSANE! I hope he plays that in NYC on Friday. :clown:

No, but did have a drunk as hell chic asking him to at the end of the night. It made me sick to my stomach.
