Hi all

Here’s a little snippet of my remix of the 1999 trance classic ‘Angel’ by Fridge which I’ve been working on.

My version fuses the massive euphoric melody and those unmistakable vocal effects from Ralph Fritsch’s awesome original with a host of new driving sounds which has actually turned out quite Tyas-sounding.

I’m nearly finished with it so please take a listen and let me know your thoughts. Hope you enjoy! :D

i just cant help saying that production wise it just doesnt sound professional. The ideas are nice, but to get this sean tyas like the production needs a 10x beef up.

I like your basslines though, but that high acid sounds are not really cool. Would pick a different kick too. Also the main synth could be fuller and broader. Melodies are still cool ofcourse :)

Thanks for the feedback mate – I’ve dropped the kick level and raised its pitch, filtered the snare, added some more reverb to the main lead to thicken it up, moved the sub-melodies around in the builds and drops, raised the percussion levels and changed the automation on a few other bits.

Take a listen to the new sample … Click

I mailed it out over the weekend and the result so far is thumbs up from Judge Jules, Super8 & Tab, Sied van Riel, Les Hemstock and Chris Lewis (Resident at Wales’ biggest club ‘Escape’) with loads more reactions still to come. Hopefully there’ll be some nice juicy video footage of it going down in a club soon too.

Chuffed! :D

Yeah dude, that's sick. ;) Nice work and crisp production value. Thanks for sharing. Cool style indeed! Love the choir.

Good sound here. The bassline is buzzing and crunchy. The kick does sound a tad thin for some reason, but it's got a good punch.

I like what you did with the supersaw. The saw seems to bob below the compression, which I personally do not know if I like.

Otherwise, you sound like you are on to something. Good luck with your future productions.

Thanks for listening guys. I'm still trying to track down Ralph so we'll see what comes out of it. I can't wait to hammer it on a big fat club system though! :D
