since we've moved in to our new place- i have probably got about $250 in rebates from Rogers. Complain complain complain. They don't have a problem giving things to you because they KNOW they made a mistake.

oh the best: my cell phone gets disconnected 4 times- because apparantly i was reaching this magical credit limit- that i didn't know existed- we have an all in one bill- so i called to complain the last time- i received a $50 credit (because of internet problems as well)- when i mentioned my cell phone problem i asked for something because i missed "important calls"- the customer service person told me that i have already been "overcompensated" with the $50 and there was nothing more he could do-

So who do I have to ask for on the phone to complain to, to actually get some results (or free )? Speaking with the regular customer service reps doesn't seem to be doing anything. Do I need to ask for a supervisor?

I should also add that I've never been rude to these people, no matter how pissed off I am. I've been on the other end of things, and know that anger will get me nowhere. Maybe that's the problem?

ask for a supervisor- you may or may not get one- but make sure you let them know that you are not satisfied.

use my favourite word "UNACCEPTABLE" this word packs a good punch.

(i worked in customer service/hospitality for a long time.... this word comes up a lot).....

my other favourite is: "what are you going to do to make sure i get off the phone a satisfied customer".... give it a whirl...

LOL!! Yeah I totally DID pull out the "unacceptable", quite a few times (I've worked in customer service as well, lol).

I was so enraged I had to hang up the phone...I didn't want to yell at the poor girl!

I'll try the satisfied customer bit, hahaha.

My customer service rep handling approach:

Always ask to escalate if you're not happy. Talk to a manager or supervisor. If they can't help you (or in Telus' case don't exist in the call centre)ask to speak to whoever is in charge. Telus told me they didn't have any managers there, I asked who makes sure they show up to work and tells them what time to take thier breaks...oh, there IS a manager there after all?

Still not helping? Ask to speak to thier supervisior - DO NOT accept any "my manager will call you right back" crap. Screw you, put them on the phone. I'll hold.
Still no help, ask for the corporate office number and the name of the CS director or whatever. I seriously would call Ted Rogers myself if I wasn't getting anywhere with the front-line staff. Make a very polite fuss and be reasonable in what you expect.

you can keep getting mad at them- even though the person might be nice- just get furious- but make sure you take a deep breath and say

"i'm not mad at you. i know you didn't do this. i'm mad at Rogers right now and you just happen to be the person who took my call so now i'd like you to make sure i get off the phone satisfied that my problem has been fixed."

I know I've tried to rally the troops before, but it's stricly an effort to satisfy my bloodlust for Ted Rogers.
