Yes actually he was right ;)
HIV is an extremely fragile virus and will not survive in the presence of high amounts of oxygen, ie in the air.
Only once it's in the body does it proliferate and cause an immune system shutdown or severe weaking. Also, your assumption that HIV causes death is incorrect. AIDS does not kill, it just weakens you. You know what AIDS sufferers die from mostly? Common colds and infections that lead to pneumonia etc because their body cannot fight off even the weakest of diseases.
There's a reason why it's called the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. |

Wrong. It's the easiest way to get HIV/AIDS. Vaginal and testicular secretions do infact transmit the disease easier than blood. Blood will often have cells in there which can fight off the disease or at least attempt to, unlike other bodily fluids (minus lymph). |
