Sex requires more energy, so inherently your mind isnt entirely on when you are going to cum, but rather doing the motions, kissing, grabbing, etc, etc.
jerking off takes practically no effort has one thing in mind...cumming. so you're going to do it quicker.

Now I wonder if this is actually the opposite for most people or not. People talk about how they start to last longer over time, because it feels so good the first few times and you cum quickly, but that has never been the case for me. yep, a lot of men have delayed ejaculation. Sometimes the cause is lack of sensitivity (btw, are you circumcised?)
